> Self-drive rental of one new-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S (992.2, 2026) in Barcelona, by the day, weekend or week, delivered to the customer's hotel, villa or El Prat airport. - ["From" price](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/from-price/): The lowest price a rental company can defend for a car, usually a low-season, long-duration figure shown without its conditions. Most Barcelona supercar listings use one; the price you are quoted for real dates is often 50 to 100 % higher.
- [992.2](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/992-2/): Porsche's internal designation for the second phase of the eighth-generation 911 (992), introduced from 2024. The 992.2 Turbo S, revealed in September 2025, is the first Turbo S with a hybrid drivetrain and the most powerful series 911 built.
- [Cross-border use](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/cross-border-use/): Taking a rental car out of Spain. Spanish law does not restrict it; the insurer and the contract do. The market norm is to allow France and Andorra with prior notice and a fee, and to exclude Italy, Portugal and the UK for high-value cars.

- [Excess](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/excess/): The maximum amount the renter pays per damage event under the rental's insurance. Everything above the excess is covered. On supercars it is set by the insurer and often equals the deposit.
- [Excess reduction](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/excess-reduction/): An optional daily add-on that lowers the excess in exchange for a fee. Common on Italian and French supercar rentals, less so in Spain.
- [Extra-kilometre rate](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/extra-kilometre-rate/): The per-kilometre price charged on return for distance beyond the included allowance. Supercar rentals in Spain charge between €2 and €8 a kilometre; Supercars Barcelona charges €5.
- [Front axle lift](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/front-axle-lift/): A hydraulic system that raises the nose by about 40 mm at the push of a button, remembering locations via GPS. It is what lets a low car cross a hotel ramp or a Barcelona kerb without touching.
- [Full-to-full](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/full-to-full/): The fuel policy under which the car is delivered with a full tank and must be returned full. Any shortfall is refuelled at cost plus a service fee. It is the only fair policy; prepaid-fuel schemes overcharge.
- [Handover](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/handover/): The physical start and end of a rental: identity and licence check, walk-around inspection with timestamped photos, fuel level and odometer reading, signature. A good handover takes minutes because the paperwork was done before.
- [Included kilometres](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/included-kilometres/): The distance covered by the rental price, counted per day and pooled over the rental. Beyond it, an extra-kilometre rate applies. Spanish operators most often include 150 km a day.
- [International Driving Permit](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/international-driving-permit/): A translation booklet that accompanies a national licence. EU and EEA licences are valid in Spain on their own; visitors with licences from outside the EU need an IDP or a licence in the Vienna or Geneva format alongside the original.
- [IVA](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/iva/): Spanish value-added tax, 21 % on car rental. It is charged on every pick-up in Spain regardless of the customer's nationality and cannot be reclaimed by tourists. Honest rate cards show prices with IVA included.
- [Launch Control](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/launch-control/): A function that manages clutch, revs and traction for the fastest possible standing start. Brake, floor the throttle, release the brake.
- [PASM and PDCC](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/pasm-pdcc/): Porsche Active Suspension Management (adaptive dampers with Normal and Sport modes) and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (active anti-roll). Together they let the same car be comfortable on the motorway and flat through corners.
- [PCCB](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/pccb/): Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake: carbon-ceramic discs, 420 mm at the front, with yellow ten-piston calipers. Fade-free and half the weight of steel, standard on the Turbo S.
- [PDK](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/pdk/): Porsche Doppelkupplung, the dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Eight speeds on the Turbo S, shifting in milliseconds with paddles on the wheel or fully automatic. There is no manual Turbo S.
- [Pre-authorisation](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/pre-authorisation/): A card-network hold that reserves funds without taking them. It shows as pending on the statement and disappears when released. Unlike a charge, it does not need to be refunded, so there is nothing to wait for.
- [Rate card](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/rate-card/): The published table of day, weekend and week prices by season for one car. A rate card is declared in advance and versioned, never calculated live, so the price you see for a date is the price you pay.
- [Rear-axle steering](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/rear-axle-steering/): Rear wheels that turn opposite to the fronts at low speed, shrinking the turning circle to 10.9 metres, and in the same direction at high speed for stability.
- [Season](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/season/): A named pricing period attached to a date range. Barcelona supercar rentals typically run a low season (November to February), a mid season (spring and October) and a high season (June to September), with surcharges around major events.
- [Second driver](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/second-driver/): An additional named driver on the rental contract. Spanish law requires every driver to be registered with the police register, so a second driver goes through the same age, licence and verification checks as the first.
- [Sport Chrono](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/sport-chrono/): The package that adds the mode dial on the steering wheel (Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, Individual, Wet), Launch Control, the dashboard stopwatch and sharper engine and gearbox mapping.
- [T-Hybrid](https://supercars.barcelona/glossary/t-hybrid/): Porsche's performance hybrid system for the 911: an electric motor inside the eight-speed PDK gearbox plus electrically assisted turbochargers, fed by a small 400-volt battery. It exists to remove turbo lag and add torque, not to drive on electricity alone.
