Excess
In Spanish contracts: Franquicia
The maximum amount the renter pays per damage event under the rental's insurance. Everything above the excess is covered. On supercars it is set by the insurer and often equals the deposit.
Example
With a €7,500 excess, a €20,000 repair costs the renter €7,500; a €2,000 repair costs €2,000.
