In Spanish contracts: Fianza
An amount blocked on the renter's credit card to cover the insurance excess, fines and fuel. On a properly run rental it is a pre-authorisation, not a charge: the money never leaves the account unless something is owed. Spanish supercar deposits range from €3,000 to €20,000.
