Booking and pricing
How a supercar rental is priced, packaged and confirmed.
- "From" pricePrecio "desde"
- The lowest price a rental company can defend for a car, usually a low-season, long-duration figure shown without its conditions. Most Barcelona supercar listings use one; the price you are quoted for real dates is often 50 to 100 % higher.
- Day rateTarifa diaria
- The list price for a 24-hour rental period, tax included, as shown on the rate card. It is the unit every supercar rental in Spain is metered on; weekends and weeks are multiples of it with a discount.
- DeliveryEntrega
- Bringing the car to the customer rather than the customer collecting it. Delivery to a hotel, villa or airport terminal replaces the rental office; the handover is done on the spot.
- EnquirySolicitud
- A request for dates that has not gone through checkout. Before online booking opens, every reservation at Supercars Barcelona starts as an enquiry answered personally, with the rate confirmed in writing.
- Event surchargeSuplemento por evento
- A premium applied on top of high-season rates during weeks when Barcelona's demand for cars peaks: Mobile World Congress, the Formula 1 and MotoGP weekends, and Sónar. Usually paired with a minimum rental length.
- Extra-kilometre rateKilómetro adicional
- The per-kilometre price charged on return for distance beyond the included allowance. Supercar rentals in Spain charge between €2 and €8 a kilometre; Supercars Barcelona charges €5.
- Full-to-fullLleno a lleno
- The fuel policy under which the car is delivered with a full tank and must be returned full. Any shortfall is refuelled at cost plus a service fee. It is the only fair policy; prepaid-fuel schemes overcharge.
- HandoverEntrega y devolución
- The physical start and end of a rental: identity and licence check, walk-around inspection with timestamped photos, fuel level and odometer reading, signature. A good handover takes minutes because the paperwork was done before.
- Included kilometresKilómetros incluidos
- The distance covered by the rental price, counted per day and pooled over the rental. Beyond it, an extra-kilometre rate applies. Spanish operators most often include 150 km a day.
- IVAIVA
- Spanish value-added tax, 21 % on car rental. It is charged on every pick-up in Spain regardless of the customer's nationality and cannot be reclaimed by tourists. Honest rate cards show prices with IVA included.
- Rate cardTarifas
- The published table of day, weekend and week prices by season for one car. A rate card is declared in advance and versioned, never calculated live, so the price you see for a date is the price you pay.
- SeasonTemporada
- A named pricing period attached to a date range. Barcelona supercar rentals typically run a low season (November to February), a mid season (spring and October) and a high season (June to September), with surcharges around major events.
- Weekend rentalAlquiler de fin de semana
- A fixed three-day package, typically Friday midday to Monday midday, priced at roughly 2.5 times the day rate with a proportionally larger kilometre allowance.
Deposit and insurance
What is held on your card, what you are liable for, and how it is released.
- DepositFianza
- An amount blocked on the renter's credit card to cover the insurance excess, fines and fuel. On a properly run rental it is a pre-authorisation, not a charge: the money never leaves the account unless something is owed. Spanish supercar deposits range from €3,000 to €20,000.
- Deposit releaseLiberación de la fianza
- The moment the rental company cancels the pre-authorisation after checking fuel, kilometres, damage and fines. The interval between return and release is the number that separates reliable operators from the ones with refund complaints.
- Driver minimumsRequisitos del conductor
- The minimum age and years of licence the insurer accepts for a given car. For a 700-horsepower Porsche they are stricter than for a rental hatchback and there are no exceptions, because the policy would be void.
- ExcessFranquicia
- The maximum amount the renter pays per damage event under the rental's insurance. Everything above the excess is covered. On supercars it is set by the insurer and often equals the deposit.
- Excess reductionReducción de franquicia
- An optional daily add-on that lowers the excess in exchange for a fee. Common on Italian and French supercar rentals, less so in Spain.
- Pre-authorisationPreautorización
- A card-network hold that reserves funds without taking them. It shows as pending on the statement and disappears when released. Unlike a charge, it does not need to be refunded, so there is nothing to wait for.
- Second driverSegundo conductor
- An additional named driver on the rental contract. Spanish law requires every driver to be registered with the police register, so a second driver goes through the same age, licence and verification checks as the first.
- Traffic fine pass-throughGestión de multas
- The rental company's legal duty to identify the driver of any fine within 20 days, and its right to recover the fine from the deposit. Charging a handling fee on top is what Spanish consumer authorities fined a major renter €1 million for in 2026.

Licences, low-emission zones, borders and the rules a visitor meets on Catalan roads.
- Cross-border useSalida al extranjero
- Taking a rental car out of Spain. Spanish law does not restrict it; the insurer and the contract do. The market norm is to allow France and Andorra with prior notice and a fee, and to exclude Italy, Portugal and the UK for high-value cars.
- DGT environmental labelDistintivo ambiental DGT
- The sticker issued by Spain's traffic authority that classifies a car's emissions as 0, ECO, C or B and governs access to low-emission zones. Plug-in and mild hybrids meeting the criteria receive ECO; Euro 6 petrol supercars usually receive C.
- International Driving PermitPermiso internacional de conducir
- A translation booklet that accompanies a national licence. EU and EEA licences are valid in Spain on their own; visitors with licences from outside the EU need an IDP or a licence in the Vienna or Geneva format alongside the original.
- ZBE (low-emission zone)Zona de Bajas Emisiones
- Barcelona's low-emission zone inside the ring roads, active Monday to Friday 07:00 to 20:00. Access depends on the DGT environmental label; older petrol cars are excluded and B-label cars lose access from 2028. A hybrid with an ECO label drives in without restriction.
The car
Porsche terms and systems on the 911 Turbo S you will drive.
- 992.2
- Porsche's internal designation for the second phase of the eighth-generation 911 (992), introduced from 2024. The 992.2 Turbo S, revealed in September 2025, is the first Turbo S with a hybrid drivetrain and the most powerful series 911 built.
- Front axle lift
- A hydraulic system that raises the nose by about 40 mm at the push of a button, remembering locations via GPS. It is what lets a low car cross a hotel ramp or a Barcelona kerb without touching.
- Launch Control
- A function that manages clutch, revs and traction for the fastest possible standing start. Brake, floor the throttle, release the brake.
- PASM and PDCC
- Porsche Active Suspension Management (adaptive dampers with Normal and Sport modes) and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (active anti-roll). Together they let the same car be comfortable on the motorway and flat through corners.
- PCCB
- Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake: carbon-ceramic discs, 420 mm at the front, with yellow ten-piston calipers. Fade-free and half the weight of steel, standard on the Turbo S.
- PDK
- Porsche Doppelkupplung, the dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Eight speeds on the Turbo S, shifting in milliseconds with paddles on the wheel or fully automatic. There is no manual Turbo S.
- Rear-axle steering
- Rear wheels that turn opposite to the fronts at low speed, shrinking the turning circle to 10.9 metres, and in the same direction at high speed for stability.
- Sport Chrono
- The package that adds the mode dial on the steering wheel (Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, Individual, Wet), Launch Control, the dashboard stopwatch and sharper engine and gearbox mapping.
- T-Hybrid
- Porsche's performance hybrid system for the 911: an electric motor inside the eight-speed PDK gearbox plus electrically assisted turbochargers, fed by a small 400-volt battery. It exists to remove turbo lag and add torque, not to drive on electricity alone.
- Vanadium Grey Metallic
- A Porsche exterior colour, a cool mid-grey with a blue undertone that reads almost silver in sun and slate at dusk. The Supercars Barcelona Turbo S is finished in it, with black high-gloss wheels and trim.
