A card-network hold that reserves funds without taking them. It shows as pending on the statement and disappears when released. Unlike a charge, it does not need to be refunded, so there is nothing to wait for.
Example
The bank shows €7,500 pending during the rental; five working days after return it is gone, with no refund line.
